Object Of Desire
The usual division of roles between humans and animals reversed. A rhino stands in a museum space and looks at a woman who, as an exhibit, stands on a platform with her dress partially opened. Whereas rhino horn is considered a miraculous aphrodisiac in certain traditions, such as Chinese medicine, here it is man who is the focus of desire.
This work shows how our consumption, driven by desire, blurs the line between admiration and exploitation, to the detriment of these magnificent animals.
The series “One day at the museum” won a jury award in the prestigious IPA AWARDS 2023.
